Conditions of sale

By bidding and purchasing in our auctions, you agree to our terms & conditions.

Step 1: Account registration

Step 2: Auction registration (for each auction)

(Processing your registration can take several days, please register as soon as possible)

If you wish to bid during the live auction, please double-click or slide the button to confirm your bid.

The auction sale occurs by upward bidding in € / Euro currency.

A buyer's premium of 20% will be added on top of the hammer price.

Lots are assigned to the highest bidder.

In case of two even bids the lot will be assigned to the one who placed the bid first.

Every bidder is considered to buy for him or herself.

Orders will be sent after the invoice has been paid in full.

Ownership of the lots remains with the seller until payment has been done in full.

Please do not use the following function on the invoice: QUICK PAY / Paidlabs:

'Pay Invoice, Select Payment Method, No payment methods have been enabled for your account. Please contact Crown Currency to pay'

This feature is currently not in use. Please see the summary of the invoice for the payment instructions.

It is important to refresh the auction page regularly for the continuity of the bidding process.

This way you can avoid having to log in again during the bidding process.

Shipping costs:

The Netherlands €25 FedEx/UPS.

Worldwide shipping €39 for EMS/FedEx/PostNL* and UPS for €78.

Update: Shipping Costs Adjustment (Effective May 21, 2026) Dear valued clients, due to the current global situation and the rapid increase in shipping expenses, we find it necessary to implement a (temporary) adjustment to our shipping rates, effective immediately. As of May 21, 2026, the updated shipping and handling costs are as follows: Shipping and handling costs within the Netherlands €25. Shipping and handling costs for worldwide shipping or personal delivery at shows outside the Netherlands €39.

*EMS/PostNL is only used in very exceptional cases and only if this has been determined by the auctioneer.

Unfortunately, requests for shipment with EMS/PostNL cannot be processed.

An adjusted shipping fee might/will be charged for sending larger orders, sheets, bricks, books, plates, albums, coins, collections and all other lots with a heavier and/or different size.

At the moment, we do not offer alternative or cheaper shipping options.

Effective September 1, 2025, each auction invoice will be invoiced and settled separately. Shipping and handling costs will apply to every auction invoice. Return shipping or delivery costs will also apply to reserved or unsold lots. Shipping or delivery charges will not apply to orders or unsold lots collected at our office in the Netherlands or during shows held in the Netherlands. Even if orders are paid separately and shipping costs are invoiced per order, Crown Currency Auctions reserves the right to combine shipments. This is because larger combined shipments incur higher shipping costs than individual shipments. In practice, Crown Currency Auctions already absorbs shipping costs that exceed the amounts charged to clients. Per a specific client request, we can accommodate holding multiple orders at our office for later shipment. Please note that shipping and handling charges will apply to each individual order or shipment. For example, two orders will incur two separate shipping and handling charges, three orders will incur three charges, and so on. Shipments from before September 1, 2005 that were held at the office will have to be shipped with the next available order. Continuing to hold them at the office is no longer possible. If the orders that were being held at our office for pickup need to be shipped after all, please note that shipping costs will apply to each order and must be paid in full before the order(s) can be shipped. In all cases, the decision regarding shipment consolidation rests solely with Crown Currency Auctions, and this decision must be respected by the client.

If an agreement has been made in advance regarding reserve prices for one or more lots, we kindly request that you reconfirm this with us to ensure everything is processed correctly. This is only possible if these arrangements have been documented in writing in advance and approved by Crown Currency. If reserve prices have been agreed upon, it is the consignor’s responsibility to verify and reconfirm these with us at least three days before the live auction begins. This allows us to double-check the information on our end and ensure everything is properly administered. Reconfirmation may also be provided after you have received the consignor overview list from us, which includes your assigned lot numbers for the upcoming auction. After the auction has concluded, no changes can be made, and we cannot be held liable in this regard.

Should any customs fees be incurred for received consignments, they will be charged to the consignor and deducted at the time of payout.

We can offer you the following payment options:

Please note that if the payment is sent via the Goods & Services option (standard method), we will have to refund the payment, as it incurs a 7% processing fee.
4) Regular PayPal Good and Services option +7% (For this option, make sure the address in paypal is the correct one. We can only ship to this address)
5) Credit card payment +4,5%
6) Cash payments at the office or during shows may be made by you directly or by someone you authorize. Please note that this option must be discussed and approved in advance by Oleg Banachek before any purchase or order is placed.
7) If none of the above options are available, you may arrange for a family member or friend to make the payment on your behalf. This arrangement must be organized by you before the start of the auction and confirmed with the designated person who will handle the payment.

The buyer is also responsible for ensuring that someone is available to receive the package upon first delivery. Even if we agree to make adjustments, it remains the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the correct address is supplied during the auction registration.

The order is fully insured when shipped with the full purchase invoice value.

In the case of a jointly considered return, the order has to be returned to us first in the same condition as it was sent.

Any refunds will be made within 20 business days after the order has been returned to us and only when a jointly considered return has been agreed.
